News from Chennai is that L.K. Advani, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, met with Rajnikanth at his Poes Garden house yesterday. And speculation is rife that this might signal Rajnikanth’s arasiyal pravesam.
My opinion is that Rajni should keep out of politics, even campaigning.
And that too, not for the BJP, which has proved during the past 4 years that it is out of touch with the common man, out of touch with India’s national interests, and is worse than the Congress. Bumbling on ideology, inconsistent on issues, and with a dangerous mindset that opposes the selfsame programmes under the Congress regime that the BJP proposed in the past, the BJP’s intellectual void is as glaring as its inability to forge and retain alliances.
Supporters of Rajni think that just because MGR was successful in politics, so will their thalaivar be. But they forget that MGR had a long association with politics. And he did not debut as a Chief Minister. Contrast this with Rajnikanth, whose situation is similar to that of the BJP above. He has had no single policy stance; he cannot articulate his positions clearly; he chooses his friends in politics based on his whims.
Meendum Rajini? What do you think?

My guess is that Rajini will become the card that MK plays to counter DMDK.
Is DMDK that big a deal?
I’m not fully aware of the configuration(s). I was thinking BJP and ADMK would be on the same side, and Rajni would also join that team.
But haven’t there have also been some overtures in the past between the BJP and DMDK?
DMDK in my opinion, won’t even be a force this time. People wanted a change, some fresh blood to vote for and they (or should I say we?!
) voted for DMDK. But with no big coverage on the developments in his own constituency, I believe DMDK is losing its lusture.
Rajini on the other hand, has frankly admitted that he didn’t feel he is suitable for politics till date. He has the interest but he is still contemplating. My guess is that he might campaign for BJP this time and test how his mass:vote ratio is.
And I’d never accept BJP is worse than Congress man… At least BJP has some policies that it contradicts when it is out of power. But Congress doesn’t even have one to begin with.
Rajnikanth, in my opinion of can run for any public office that he wishes, question is, can he win the election, he maybe popular in his field, but politics is different water that he about to swim, but who knows, maybe he can serve better compared to old traditional politicians that we have today.
This article should read the politicians and economists in my country. Regards.
