Alright, can someone explain the meaning of the first line from the song “Marudhaani” (Sakkarakatti)? I mean, when translated to English, it reads “Are you Marudhu?”
My guess is that the main character’s name is Marudhu (a retro name; cool, these days). He dies, gets lost or something. And his girlfriend, daavu, whatever sees someone who resembles Marudhu; there is this nagging doubt in her mind if he could be Marudhu, and so she sings as if to question him.
What puzzles me is that the next line is “Vizhiyil yen?” Literally translates to “Why, in your eyes?” I’m confused. When taken together, it reads “Are you Marudhu? I can see it in your eyes.”
Now, is this movie, Sakkarakatti, a remake of that Devayani movie? The one in which Ajith dies, and Parthiban receives his eyes as a transplant, and Devayani takes a liking to Parthiban just because of those eyes. Someone explain.
