Of the four (Tamil) movies that I have watched this year, this is definitely the most entertaining. Well, what can I say? Genelia D’Souza for President!
After watching the movie, I was discussing it with a friend. He had heard that it was a remake, so he asked me if I knew if it was so. I told him the original was called Bommarillu, and that Siddharth was the hero. His next question was spontaneous, “So is Siddharth’s character called Bommarillu?”
It didn’t strike me until I read the corresponding Wikipedia entry that Bommarillu could be “bomma” + “illu” or “a house of dolls”. I’m not sure if it is right though.

Telugu films have perfected the art of hearty simple entertainers… Bommarillu, NVNO, etc..

FYI the movie Bommarillu done by Bhasker is a Tamilian..At any Day Telugu guys wont come out of Pokkiri,Okkadu,Annamachaarya…(Only Exception in Recent times is Happy Days,)
@Mahesh, yen indha ina veri?
Agreed agreed…. I liked Bommarillu a lot too…. This movie is a better remake compared to Something something where Ravi cudn’t match up to Siddharth… Compared to Bommarillu, the comedy tracks were better in SS, thanks to Santhanam and co…
@Mahesh: It is Hasini btw…
Business strategy of that Jeyam family is the striking beauty here.
Every year, one Telugu romance movie will become a hit. Simply, go and buy that movie incl musical rights. Plus take the same heroineee. So that you need not put any extra effort in explaining the details of the movie.
Now, start the Tamil script shooting with Dad as producer and Thambi as Hero. Load the movie in your laptop. So, whenever the leads asks you any doubt in any scene. Just ask them to see the clippings and act accordingly.
Ellaam oralauvukku mudinja odane, sell the movie to exhibitors like Pyramid Saimia or Ayngaran on first copy basis and make a killing.
Ithu allavo business tactic.
In addition to this, see to that that Hero Thambi remains a Bachelor for some more time to come, so young girls will be still yawning to see him on screen.
Che…namakku ippadi oru thambi kitaikaleeye ??
@mahesh: its okay… yaara iruntha namakkenna ? if the pic is an entertainer thats all i ask for as a movie buff !
@rams: Mahesh says ‘Boyz’ Harini da….
@GD: Yaaravathu eduthu sollunga saar… padam paarthaalum athulayum business strategy paarkaraan saar.
