Excerpts from an interview with Marion Bartoli, minutes after she completed an astounding comeback to defeat Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semifinal:

Interviewer: “Marion, what happened to you? You took a long time to settle in today…”

Marion: “Yes, I started very badly, and was a set down in no time. Then I looked at the crowd and saw Pierce Brosnan sitting. He is one of my favourite actors. So I thought I would play some decent tennis. And that’s how I turned the match around… Pierce, you seem to bring me luck. So if you can, please be courtside tomorrow too!”
