Recently I had loaned out money -- a considerable sum -- to a friend. He sent me a 'Thank you' note, which read thus:
Dear Vijay, I've received your money. Thanks a lot for the same. Considering the situation I was in, it proved immensely useful. I will remain eternally indebted to you for the same. Thanks, ...What? Eternally indebted? Come on, friend, that is not the way to thank me!!
